Agriculture Victoria is inviting all East Gippsland producers to attend one of the free dry season workshops being held in Swifts Creek, Buchan and Bairnsdale on Tuesday and Wednesday 26 and 27 September 2017.
Agriculture Victoria Regional Manager Nick Dudley said with rainfall well below average and pasture feed levels low, this short workshop will provide producers with information that may assist in making better informed decisions.
“Producers will hear valuable information to help them determine feed requirements and costing of supplements, plus how to calculate stock water requirements and issues to consider around water,” Mr Dudley said.
“Producers need to protect their paddocks and soil base, so there will also be a presentation on the value of stock containment areas.
“Our animal health staff will be discussing animal health issues to be aware of during dry times.”
Workshops will be run in the following locations:
- Tuesday, 26 September 2017, Swifts Creek DELWP office, 6pm – 8.30pm
- Wednesday, 27 September 2017, Buchan Hotel 12.30 – 3pm
- Wednesday, 27 September 2017, Bairnsdale DELWP office, 6pm – 8.30pm
Mr Dudley said all the workshops would run for approximately two hours, and a light meal will be provided at the start of the workshop.
